This year we are offering camps for rising 7th & 8th graders in both Huntington, Charleston, and Davis, WV!
Registration opens April 26, 2021
Pick up and drop off available, lunch and snack provided. All camps meet Monday-Friday from 9:00-4:00. Thanks to a generous sponsorship by the National Youth Science Foundation we are able to offer these awesome camp this at no cost to our campers this summer! We we will be taking registration on the first 20 students and then accepting the first 5 boys and 5 girls that register. We keep everyone else on a wait list in case anyone drops or we feel safe making the class larger. We will email everyone back within 30 days of registration. Canters for Disease Control (CDC) COVID-19 guidelines will be followed and all staff will be fully vaccinated.
Passport to Japan: Language, comics, and coding
Charleston (Clay Center): July 19-23

Travel to Japan without leaving WV! Language immersion camp with emphasis on Japanese comics, animation, and coding. Campers will be creating comic panels and learning coding using Scratch that can animate those panels!

LEGO Robotics

Love building with LEGOs then take it to the next level with LEGO robotics. Open play, daily building challenges, and learn how to code and robotics. Strongly suggested for those that want to join our Fall Lego robotics Competition teams. Leader educator will be Jordan Holman, who coaches the Marshall University our junior Lego Robotics team.

Microbiology

Unleash your inner scientist! Work in a real laboratory using microscopes and college-level lab equipment while learning about the microbial world. Spend the week doing exciting hands-on activities with bacteria, amoebae, and fungi you’ll collect from the environment and grow in the lab. Great introduction to health-related science if you might be interested in becoming a doctor or biomedical scientist. This class will be taught by Marshall Professor (and mom) Dr. Wendy Trzyna in the Microbiology lab. Rigorous and fun!!
