The National Youth Science Academy and I’m Ready ACT Prep, LLC are excited to announce a
partnership to offer FREE ACT math prep courses for students in Kanawha, Monongalia, Putnam,
Harrison, Cabell, Lewis, Pocahontas, Preston, Tucker, Randolph, and Barbour counties. Pending the
success of this pilot program, we hope to expand this opportunity statewide in the
near future.

Dr. Brian W. Moudry, professor at Davis & Elkins College and proprietor of I’m Ready ACT Prep, LLC,
will lead introductory sessions on Zoom on October 8th and October 15th from 7:00 – 8:30 PM. These sessions will include ACT math test introduction, strategy awareness, and sample
problem solving. Based on student interest in these virtual sessions, Dr. Moudry will arrange
Saturday workshops in-person at central locations (to be determined) and provide intensive ACT math
preparation on November 4th, November 11th, and/or November 18th.
In-person sessions will run from 9:00 – 11:30 AM and from 12:30 – 3:00 PM with free lunch provided
during the break. As part of these workshops, students will receive The Official ACT Prep Guide
2022-2023
. Past participants have averaged more than a three point improvement on
the ACT math section after taking Dr. Moudry’s course!

In addition to the virtual introductory meetings and in-person sessions, Dr. Moudry will also
schedule four two-hour Zoom sessions prior to the December 9th ACT test date. Times and dates will
be determined based on students’ needs and availability. These sessions will focus on specific
questions from students, problem solving, content refreshers, and test taking strategy practice.
Participants are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible to achieve improved test scores.
Further, students will have unlimited access to online material created by Dr. Moudry for I’m Ready
ACT Prep. This material includes videos summarizing test-taking strategies, content review, and
solutions to four ACT math tests (240 ACT math problems).
