Davis, WV – May 20, 2025 – The National Youth Science Academy, which hosts the National Youth Science Camp and other STEAM programming, is pleased to announce the unanimous election of Full Professor Patricia Saleeby, Ph.D., to its Board of Trustees at their most recent meeting on March 15, 2025. Dr. Saleeby brings a wealth of experience in education and fundraising with a proven track record of leadership as Department Chair of Criminology, Sociology, and Social Work at Bradley University.

“We were thrilled to welcome Trish to our board,” said Ryan Haupt, Executive Director and CEO of the National Youth Science Academy. “We have been benefiting from her expertise for some time already and are grateful to have her invaluable input officially added to our Board of Trustees.”

Dr. Saleeby was selected as the top student from the Pennsylvania Academy of Science Fair ‘88 and served as a PA delegate to the National Youth Science Camp. She is an alumna of the Society for Science as a member of the Science Talent Search (formerly Westinghouse) and a National Science Foundation (NSF) fellow. She has been a long-term consultant to the World Health Organization Family of International Classifications where she works on projects driving innovation in health and social care.

“It is indeed an honor to be elected to the Board of this organization which is so dear to my heart. I consider my time at NYSCamp as one of the most memorable experiences in my life. It helped to reinforce my interest in STEM, strengthen my critical thinking skills, and build connections with other STEM enthusiasts that have lasted for decades. For these reasons, I give back to the Academy and look forward to serving in this capacity.”

Dr. Saleeby will serve as the Chair of the Development Committee during this critical and pivotal moment for all nonprofit organizations. Her leadership will serve to ensure a future for the organization and its programs that so many alumni hold dear.
